Our mission is the preservation of Germanic Folk Culture to the general public through education and support of Germanic organizations to keep the traditions alive for future generations.
Cultural diversity is part of what makes America great. Germanic-Americans have made huge contributions to our country over its history. Over 7 million German’s have immigrated to the United states from 1820-1970. Currently 30% of the Midwest population claims Germanic Heritage. However, as time passes, and we are more distant from the waves of immigrants who brought Germanic Folk Culture to the United States, we are in very real danger of losing these rich and wonderful traditions. Almost all cultural preservation is done at local social clubs, who rely on volunteers to continue the traditions and share them with their communities. These clubs are rapidly disappearing or having to sacrifice their heritage to remain open.
We will realize our goals through generous contributions from Individuals and Companies who understand the importance of preservation of this culture. We are a 501(c)(3) charity, which means that all contributions that we receive are tax deductible.
Additionally, we are always looking for non-traditional methods of support like; grants or the Amazon Smile program, which donates money for every purchase. All of these funds will then be made available through grants to organizations and groups that further our mission.
Just like the organizations that we support, our entire board is made up of volunteers whose
only goal is to carry these traditions forward for generations to come. All funding will be directed to educational opportunities, scholarships, and support of organizations which promote cultural education.
In a time when so many ethnic cultural groups are struggling, especially in light of current events, we have an opportunity to help ensure our own stays strong for future generations. You can help in several ways:
